Live Streams

As the COVID pandemic force the live events sector to shut down, the streaming sector boomed in popularity. Having never done any professional live stream work before, I decided to take up the opportunity for my final major University project.

With having background experience in all technical aspects of productions, I would like to take any opportunity on working on a professional live stream.

Final Major University Project

As my final University project and whilst still in Covid ‘lockdown’, I used my technical skills to build a 3D world environment and place the 2 brothers (Brodyr) into this world, which allowed me to provide a ‘virtual’ live set that was watched online by the audience.

How I did it

The foundations of the 3D world were the video software Disguise (D3). I imported a 3D model warehouse where I build various video walls around the model. Using NDI tools, I streamed visuals from Resolume onto the video displays. The DJs were filmed on a green screen which meant I could play the visuals behind them. For the live stream, I used midi control to playback the visuals and different camera views live. Using Restream, the event was streamed on multiple platforms.
